2013 CREW Network chapter delegates, as well as all CREW Network members, are encouraged to attend the 2013 CREW Network Winter Leadership Summit & Council Meeting scheduled for January 31 - February 1 in Memphis, TN. The meeting will take place at the historic Peabody Memphis Hotel, home of the famous Peabody ducks.

In addition to the Council Meeting, where you will learn firsthand about current association events and issues, and receive important information from CREW Network and its chapters, this event is focused on delivering top-level Chapter Leadership and Professional Development training to support your business and chapter’s success.

Please share this information with all of your 2013 Board Members and Delegates to ensure their notification.

DELEGATE TRAINING
2:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Delegate Training will be conducted Thursday, January 31 from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm.  All Delegates should plan to arrive on Thursday in time to attend the training.

 

WELCOME RECEPTION
5:00 pm to 5:45 pm

This is an important opportunity for delegates and chapter leaders to connect with their counterparts across North America and expand business and chapter networks. Learn what other chapters are doing to provide value to their members and to establish their presence in their local commercial real estate community through their current chapter activities. Business cards are a “must” at this event.

 

CREW Network Board Liaison and Chapter Delegate meetings
6:00 pm to 6:45 pm
(Delegates and Chapter Presidents only)

All chapter delegates will meet with their assigned CREW Network board liaison for a short meeting at the hotel before departing for your respective board hosted dine around.  Local presidents who are NOT serving as a delegate will meet with the CREW Network President. These meetings will be to discuss CREW Network initiatives as well as chapter successes and challenges within your group, keeping the actual dine around more social in nature.

Evening

The board hosted dine arounds provide the chapter delegates, or alternate delegates, and chapter presidents the opportunity to have dinner and network with their CREW Network board member liaison.  By holding the board liaison/chapter delegate meetings prior to the dine around, it will enable the dine around to be a social event.  

The designated delegates/alternate delegates and chapter presidents who pre-register for the CREW Network Leadership Summit & Council Meeting are automatically assigned a restaurant location. Detailed information for your assigned dine around may be picked up at the CREW Network registration desk onsite when you pick up your badge.  Dine around expenses are split evenly between the attendees, including transportation, if applicable. Please bring cash.

8:00 am to 9:30 am
Enjoy a continental breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. and then review the assigned seating chart to find your place in the meeting. It is important to be seated promptly by 8:00 am as there will be much to cover in a short period of time. While only chapter delegates are given voting rights during this meeting, all attendees are welcome.  Meeting minutes will be provided after the meeting, but you may find it helpful to take your own notes as well.

Effective Business Networking, How to Achieve Results

Join a panel of CREW members who have successfully used networking to increase revenue. We’ll discuss how to ask for business, why using CREWbiz is so important and how to use CREWbiz to make this happen. After the panel discussion, we’ll put the advice to practice when we conduct a “speed” networking session.

Stop by the CREW Memphis hospitality table to sign up for a Friday evening dine around. Dine arounds are your opportunity to network with other CREW Network members to share ideas, interests, and business opportunities.  Dine around expenses will be split evenly between the attendees, including transportation. Each diner will be responsible for covering the cost of his/her own alcoholic beverages. Please bring cash.  See FAQ’s for additional information.

CREW Memphis members working the hospitality table will be able to provide additional local information including attractions, services, shopping and more.

I am not a delegate for my chapter; may I attend the Leadership Summit & Council Meeting?

Yes. All CREW Network members are welcome and encouraged to attend the Leadership Summit & Council Meeting. Delegates/alternate delegates and CREW Network Board members will be assigned seats during the Council Meeting for voting purposes; all other CREW Network members will sit at the guest tables.

What is the dress code for the Leadership Summit & Council Meeting?

Business casual is the suggested attire for the event. Hotels try to maintain meeting room temperatures at a comfortable level, however there is a chance at some point during the meeting you may become too hot or too cold. Layered clothing is suggested in order to remain comfortable.

How do I share the information received at the Leadership Summit & Council Meeting with my chapter?

CREW Network staff will post the slides on the CREW Network website. The chapter delegates will also receive an article via email approximately two weeks following the meeting that can be included in your monthly newsletter to your members.

What are dine arounds and how do they work?

Dine arounds provide CREW Network members an opportunity to network with other members to share ideas, interests, and business opportunities. Dine around expenses are split evenly between the attendees, including transportation. We request restaurants put alcoholic beverages on a separate ticket.  It is suggested that you bring cash to the dine around. 

Board hosted dine arounds (reserved for Chapter Delegates/Alternate delegates and Chapter Presidents) are held on Thursday evening; The local host chapter dine arounds (anyone may attend) are held Friday evening.  See details for each below.

Anyone may attend the Friday evening local host chapter dine arounds by signing up at the CREW Memphis hospitality table during receptions and meeting breaks until 1:00 pm on Friday, February 1.  The signup sheets will include specific details for the respective dine around.
